I’m glad we live in a world that has music and dance.
I’ve collected a lot of music over the years. I came across this video from one of my playlists the other day and loved re-listening to it. I want to be one of these girls… dancing in the water.
Don’t we all just want to ‘make the most of our life’ (and isn’t music such a great influence?)
When you’re a creative and have so much to offer, with so many interests, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what you’re meant to do. Which skill to focus on, or how to combine them all in a productive way.
It feels like waves in a huge ocean.
Or going into deep freezes and thawing out on occasion.

Finding ways to stay crafty, mixing up the activities and never feeling bored. Just a little scattered.
Music always helps.

It’s an artform too. Like cave paintings or imprints of fossils in amber.
Lyrics and harmonies are engrained forever.
Music is an ancient and spiritual thing that connects us all. Music creates an atmosphere, it brings back memories. It carries messages that live on for as long as the song is repeated.
There are so many different types – Nordic, African, Mesoamerican, Arabic, Asian, Mediterranean, and tons more. All around the world, so many ways to make music, to find a rhythm and melody, and bring culture into it.
Thank goodness for speakers, and all the music we have around us now. Little do we know… Much of ancient music has been lost to time – but can you imagine? Unwritten compositions, inaudible arrangements, primeval musical mysteries…
Music lets us visualize, escape and transcend to those historic periods, places and emotions. It’s a powerful response – only music can do.
When everything is silent around us, we can dance to music in our heads. We can bring a song to life. Even Earth itself has a song and dance, a constant vibrational hum of motion.
Dancing is natural, it brings us closer to our core, to the truth of ourselves and the style of our existence. It requires understanding and appreciation for its relationship with music.
Music gives us a chance to let go, not be self conscious, to just flow. Swaying with movement of any kind, stretching our imaginations and bodies. Dancing in complete sync, embodying the tones.
It’s thundering now… music from the sky. Lightning flashes and darts around the clouds. Raindrops dance as they fall, full of elemental inspiration. People loved the sound so much they made rain sticks. They designed all sorts of methods for making sounds. They used their own breath to play flutes, hands to beat drums, fingers to strum harps, poems to sing.
The music you listen to becomes a part of you. We ourselves are musical instruments. Does that mean the essence of humanity is music? Maybe because it’s so deeply profound and impactful to our psyche and souls.
Music sets an ambience that becomes intertwined with every piece of artwork, every movement, everyone and thing that hears or feels it.

Music is meant to heal and enhance the mood, it’s our comfort.
Maybe to make the most of our lives, we should fill it with music.
..Come back to your own ancient music, the music within, of your roots, of the land you live on, of the Heavens above. Be the song, and dance!
